Hitch Your Wagon to a Rodeo Star

Last April, an amazing thing happened. Five of my writer friends and I published an anthology of hot, somewhat paranormal romances. Here’s what the blurb says:

In the city of Anteros, you might find yourself at the Bowman’s Inn. You could be lonely, hurting, or lost more than you know. The bartender, Valentine Archer, will know just what you need. He not only looks like a Greek god, he used to be one. Cupid prefers to be called Val these days. But he still knows how to mend a broken heart.

Six authors have combined their talent to bring you a collection of tales with romance, mystery and maybe a little humor. The delightful short stories feature characters who own or operate the facilities of the Bowman’s Inn or are just passing through. Whatever the case, Cupid has a way to help each of them find what their hearts require.

We had a blast writing and hanging out with each other on line, so we decided (actually we planned all along to do 4 books) Summer would be out in July. Guess what! Today you can purchase The Bowman’s Inn Book 2 Summer at Amazon! Here’s the blurb for Summer (yeah, it kind of repeats the last paragraph).

Welcome back to the city of Anteros, where the rodeo is in town across the street from the Bowman’s Inn. If you love cowboys and cowgirls, you could find your perfect match here. After all, Summer is heating things up. The bartender, Valentine Archer, will know just what you need. He not only looks like a Greek god, he used to be one. Cupid prefers to be called Val these days. But he still knows how to bring people together.

And of course, we are having a release day party on July 22nd on Facebook! You are all invited. There’s give-aways and sillyness and, oh I don’t know, pictures of nearly naked men. Because that’s the way we roll at these parties. https://www.facebook.com/events/1456007191366996/

I think I had the most fun writing A Beautiful Day because it had started life as a prompt. When another one of our authors had to bow out, and I needed a quick fill-in, I grabbed it and gave it an Anteros make-over. Here’s a little peek into the results.

No one was watching them. Junior – Charlene hoped he had a real name, attractive like he was – edged slowly toward a back corner. Then he turned, and looked at her. “Are you okay?” he whispered.
Charlene nodded. “I guess. But my beautiful day is ruined.”
“Maybe we can fix that. Now, pretend I’m coming on to you.” His hands went to her waist, and he lowered his head to her neck. “I’m going to get you out of here if I can.”
Again she nodded, and tried not to think about how she liked what he did to her, and how gently he nibbled on her neck. “What about them?” She gestured with her chin at the others.
“My problem,” he said softly. “Mmm, nice scent you’re wearing.”
“I– what?”
“Sorry. It’s been a long day.” He lifted his head to smile at her. His eyes were a light color, she couldn’t tell exactly which in the dim corner, but she thought they were the nicest eyes she had ever seen on a bank robber. Even his deep voice, growly and sexy, sent shivers up her back.
He kissed her, and she lost all sense of the world around her. Oh, he tasted good! Maybe he would get off with just a light sentence if they returned the money. She would wait for him. And then he could learn an honest trade. Maybe he could get a job in her office.

Charlene and Nate will be back in Autumn. Their story is one of the few that doesn’t focus on the rodeo that’s in town. But that doesn’t matter, as this anthology is hitched to a Rodeo Star!
